Charleston Jewish Federation

The mission of the Charleston Jewish Federation is to build and sustain Jewish life in Charleston, Israel, and around the world. 

Since 1949, CJF has been the central unifying organization of the local Jewish community. 

CJF works through collaborations with local and international partners to:

• cultivate Jewish life and Jewish education;
• support Jewish people in Israel and over 70 countries worldwide;
• care for vulnerable populations across greater Charleston and all over the world, wherever there is need; and
• empower the next generation through engagement and leadership development. 

As the convener of the Jewish community, CJF bridges local Jewish organizations to each other and to the greater Jewish world. By serving the underserved, we provide a place of belonging for anyone who identifies with the Jewish people. By providing connections for local unaffiliated and interfaith families, to assisting Jews with the most basic needs from the Lowcountry to the former Soviet Union and Ukraine, we ensure that no one is left behind. 

The Charleston Jewish Federation safeguards a point of entry for a Jewish person at every stage of life by supporting the Jewish organizations and agencies that fulfill this mission. By promoting Jewish peoplehood, CJF makes sure that no matter where you go, there will be a community for you.
