About Us

La Cocina’s mission is to dismantle systems of oppression and co-create paths to liberation by providing full access to traditional and non-traditional forms of mental health and health equity support services. To this end, La Cocina provides Larimer County’s Latinx communities with safe, sensitive, and culturally attuned Spanish-language behavioral and mental health (BMH) services, immigrant-led community peer-supports, mental health education and group support(s), and in home community-based mental health promotion services. Offered at no cost, all La Cocina services are available to any/all Spanish-speaking persons demonstrating financial need. La Cocina’s programs are grounded in approaches that recognize that an individual’s psychosocial wellbeing is implicitly and explicitly affected by the larger sociopolitical, historical, and cultural contexts, and serves as an educational and training model for cultural relevance and proficiency.
