About Us

WHO WE ARE

NAMI St. Louis (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with mental illnesses and their families in the St. Louis region. For over 40 years, NAMI St. Louis has worked to promote the development of community mental health programs and services, change public attitudes about mental illnesses, improve access to services and increase opportunities for recovery. NAMI St. Louis serves the St. Louis region, which includes seven local counties. The seven counties include: St. Louis County, St. Louis City, St. Charles County, Lincoln County, Franklin County, Warren County and Jefferson County.


MISSION

NAMI St. Louis provides education, advocacy, and support essential to the recovery, resilience, and well-being of all who have mental health needs and for their families, caregivers, and the community.


OUR VISION

In our envisioned future mental illness will no longer thwart a person’s fulfillment of his or her potential. With early pinpoint diagnoses, interventions and targeted medications and services there is no pervasive disability. Ultimately, we envision a day when prevention or a cure is found.
