About Us

The University of the Virgin Islands Research & Technology Park Corporation is a university-affiliated public-private partnership established in 2002 to help strengthen and diversify the economy of the U.S. Virgin Islands. We accomplish our mission through strategies and initiatives that promote inclusive entrepreneurship, and the attraction of technology and knowledge-based enterprises that create employment opportunities and enhance quality of life for local residents. It also bears emphasis that we are poised to launch several talent development programs including coding and STEM-related instruction for school-age children as well as adult job seekers. As a sector-focused economic development organization, we concentrate on clusters that mesh with our assets and competitive advantages, and with our overall needs. These include sustainable development (i.e., renewable energy, marine science, sustainable agriculture), healthcare and life sciences, IT/telecommunications and financial technology.
