  • Mission

The mission of Camp TESSA is to teach effective social skills for children with Autism by fostering relationships with positive peer role models.

    About Us

Camp TESSA of Hardin County is a summer day camp for individuals with autism. Each camper is paired with a neurotypical peer buddy to foster social and communication skills and encourage maximum participation in camp activities. The camp is staffed with certified special education teachers and assistants who have experience working with students with autism in the local school districts. Campers participate in daily social skills instruction as well as typical camp activities such as games and crafts. The camp also includes daily music therapy and community involvement with field trips to local attractions. The camp culminates with a family picnic with an informational meeting and performance by the campers.
