  • About Us

At theVillage we work together with children, families, and communities impacted by trauma to support healing and resilience, to encourage hope, and to empower them to realize their greatest potential. It is because of caring and dedicated staff that we have been making a difference in the lives of children and families for nearly 140 years. Our work helps kids and families who have experienced significant trauma and challenges to not only survive but to thrive. TheVillage provides a comprehensive range of prevention, child welfare, therapeutic, and educational services and programs to help heal the spirits of children, families, and communities in crisis. TheVillage nurtures the individual, encourages healthy familial ties, and strengthens the communities of the Greater Philadelphia region.

TheVillage provides services from two facilities. Residential services and administrative headquarters are located on a 43-acre campus in Rosemont, PA. The Preheim Center in Southwest Philadelphia houses many of theVillage's community- based, prevention, and behavioral health services.

The Village is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). The Village initially earned accreditation in 1998 and was re-accredited in 2001, 2004, 2007, and 2010.
