Resources for Human Development specializes in creating innovative, quality services that support people of all abilities in person-centered, trauma-informed programs across the country.

A national human services nonprofit founded in 1970, RHD serves tens of thousands of people every year with caring and effective programs addressing intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral health, homelessness, addiction recovery and more.

RHD- Team ARRIVE is a community-based service for individuals with mental health needs. Utilizing psychiatric rehabilitation and peer support, ARRIVE supports people as they work to improve skills for independent living, make valuable connections and participate in their community, and learn to manage wellness for increased quality of life.

Team ARRIVE provides Psychiatric Rehabilitation Adult Skills Training in areas such as Home Living (cooking, cleaning, shopping laundry, home maintenance, etc.), Medication Management (Understanding purpose, need and appropriate self-administration of each medication as prescribed) and Money Management (Budgeting, bill-paying, banking, past debts, etc.).

Within the context of a recovery-oriented environment and a commitment to self-directed services, Team ARRIVE’s Peer Specialists provide support that includes a variety of recovery-enhancing activities:

• Crisis prevention and support

• Enhancing roles and community supports

• Advocacy and enhancing self-advocacy

• Self-improvement

• Development and maintenance of personal and social support networks

• Developing “Personal Medicine,” Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAPs) and Psychiatric Advance Directives (PADs)

Peer Specialists provide support to individuals with preventing or managing relapse, and assist individuals in gaining information about resources, options, and opportunities for community connections, education, work, and housing.

Team ARRIVE staff assists participants reducing isolation, encouraging connection with peers, family, friends, associates and self-help or support groups both inside and outside the behavioral health system through social relationships and leisure and recreational activities. Staff also assists with managing benefits, transportation, legal issues, community participation and inclusion and self-care.
