  • About Us

Groundswell International (http://www.groundswellinternational.org) is a leading non-governmental organization that supports people-centered development, agroecology and sustainable local food systems. Founded in 2009, our mission is to strengthen rural communities to build healthy farming and food systems from the ground up. We function as a partnership, bringing together staff, partner organizations and allies with decades of grounded experience in supporting these processes. Groundswell International currently works with partners and programs in 10 countries: Burkina Faso, Ecuador, Ghana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mali, Nepal, Senegal and the U.S.  Together we are: enabling hundreds of thousands of family farmers to improve their lives; spreading effective strategies to improve farming and local food systems; and working for supportive policies.
