About Us

The Cornerstone and Beacon Community Centers are committed to developing the leadership skills, self-confidence, and self-identity of all our participants. In our classes youth explore a variety of engaging art forms and recreational activities, and gain exposure to new experiences and methods of thinking. Leadership and life skills are explored in every class. Through a constant conversation regarding what it means to be a leader in their community, structured opportunities to act as leaders, and exposure to a wide variety of professional adult role models, we help our students to gain the educational, social and vocational competencies needed as they transition into young adulthood. The Community Centers are more than just a “safe space” for teens. We are a safe space for teens to discover who they are, and who they are capable of being.
