Chatham UMC Statement of Welcome
(Unanimously Adopted by the Church Council, February 19, 2019)
The people of the Chatham United Methodist Church affirm our welcome of all people to join us in community, in worship life, and in service to those in need.
We welcome
the hopeful and the hopeless;
the young, the old, and everyone in between;
the single person, the married person, and the divorced person;
the citizen, the immigrant, and the refugee;
those of any sexual orientation and any gender identity;
those of any race and culture;
those of any income level and class;
those of all abilities;
the powerful and the powerless….
If you believe in God some of the time, or all of the time, or you just are not sure, you are welcome here.
We journey with all comers to live in God’s grace, enact the love of Christ, and experience the Holy Spirit at work in our midst.
The Chatham United Methodist Church is an open and inclusive congregation of the United Methodist Church. The congregation attempts to care for all people particularly through aiding those with food insecurity with our food pantry and Wednesday food distribution. We welcome all to participate in our 10:00 am Sunday morning services, communion on the first Sunday of each month, community groups, music groups, youth activities, leadership, and all activities of the church.
