CISV's mission is to educate and inspire action toward a more just and peaceful world by promoting intercultural friendship, understanding, and cooperation through its educational programs. Based on the belief that peace is achievable through friendship, CISV employs a hands-on, "learning by doing" approach to help young people develop skills to become active, informed, and responsible global citizens.

Every year, the CISV New York chapter seeks committed volunteers to join the adult group, which leads delegations, or the staff member group that directs Local, National, and International Programs. Being a leader in a CISV program is a meaningful volunteer commitment that offers several key benefits:
