To promote the independence of residents north of the river by providing a hand up through education and assistance.

    About Us

For 100 years, the Northside Neighborhood House has walked alongside our neighbors by establishing relationships and connecting them to resources to support their path to stability and opportunity. Our programming spans three general categories:

    1) Stability programming to assist with rent/mortgage, utility bills, and food, as well as initiatives like cooking and computer skills classes.

    2) Our CommUNITY Schools, where we facilitate partnerships between schools, families, and community organizations to improve educational outcomes and well-being.

    3) Our Thrift Stores, where we provide low-cost options for clothing and household items.

NNH hosts a Back to School Shop where students can select their supplies, ensuring they are ready for a successful school year, and Santa's Workshop, which allows families to choose toys, books, and coats for the holidays. We stay busy, with several fundraising events occurring throughout the year. The Not So Silent Auction, occurring in October, is a fun spin on a charity auction unlike any other, with lively games, food, and an auction. Each Thanksgiving, we gear up for our Stuffing Strut 5k. Event proceeds support NNH, the Soddy Daisy Food Bank, the Jim Wilson Fund at Soddy Daisy Middle School, and the Dallas Bay Fire Department. In April of 2025, the NNH Fashion Show will returning for a second year of rocking the runway. With local models showcasing sustainable fashion found in our thrift stores, this fun event is not one to miss!
