  • About Us

Our population is growing older dramatically as Baby Boomers approach 60. One of the fastest growing populations are those over 85 years of age. All aspects of society are affected by these changes, making gerontology - the interdisciplinary study of the aging process – of increasing importance. As our nation and state face the challenges of great numbers and diversity among the elderly, our government, social service agencies, and communities are expected to increase services to the elderly. Preparation in Gerontology equips students for these new challenges and careers.
