More than 35 years ago, F∙E∙G∙S established its Education and Youth Services Division to enhance the educational experiences of children and to help young adults graduate from high school, enroll in college or professional training, and enter the workforce. Today, F∙E∙G∙S’s Education and Youth Services Division assists more than 5,000 youth and young adults each year to achieve their personal, educational, and professional goals. The Division’s portfolio is comprised of after-school programs for youth and families, high school partnerships with the NYC Department of Education, and wide-ranging employment and educational services for out-of-school young adults and youth transitioning out of foster care. Education & Youth Services Staff Members are guided by the best practices in youth development, case management services, workforce development, and academic instruction. EYS programs provide participants with one-on-one staff and peer connections, opportunities to develop leadership and constructive social skills, exploration of post-secondary educational opportunities, and preparation for successful entry into the labor force.
