SCHOOL OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
The School of the Blessed Sacrament (SBS) is a Pre-K through Eighth grade Catholic elementary school located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The well-rounded curriculum incorporates love of God, self, and others. Parish, families, faculty and staff collaborate to educate the heart and mind, and empower the children to embrace challenges in a loving, faith- filled environment.
The school celebrates diversity, strong ethical values, and the development of each child’s God-given academic potential. We integrate technology, the arts, music and physical education programs to provide a liberal arts education for the whole child. The primary aims of a Blessed Sacrament education are to foster Christian leadership, individual responsibility and service to those in need.
The School of the Blessed Sacrament uses the New York State Common Core Standards in English Language Arts, mathematics, and literacy across the subject areas. Our curriculum develops children's ability to grow into innovative and independent thinkers. They problem solve and master the fundamental skills of language arts and math. Teachers build creative and rigorous classroom environments in which students are challenged and supported in their academic journeys.
Blessed Sacrament offers small class sizes (no more than 25 students per class), differentiated learning in every classroom, after school academic support for all students, Title I program resources, learning center resources, high school admissions preparation and counseling. In addition to a comprehensive offering of after school enrichment programs, Blessed Sacrament boasts impressive theater arts and music classes and productions, innovative technology integration, and a full circulation library.
