Emergent Justice - Transformative Equity Fund

Emergent Justice is dedicated to challenging injustice by empowering communities to address issues that affect their lives. We are narrative and communications strategists, artists, and community organizers dedicated to advancing social justice and equity. We emphasize divesting from and dismantling the criminal legal system in Michigan and its many branches of punishment that show up in schools, reproductive health, criminal courts, and other punitive systems.

Our mission of empowering communities to unapologetically fight to dismantle all systems of injustice throughout Michigan is carried out by a team of dedicated, directly and personally impacted, BIPOC community organizers. Where and how we focus our efforts is informed by the concerns of the people we organize with – system-impacted, multi-generational, BIPOC people traumatized by racial injustice.
