Our mission is to be a leader in providing comprehensive developmental and mental health services to Cambridge and Somerville children, including our youngest or most vulnerable, in respectful partnership with their families and our community colleagues.

The Guidance Center, Inc. (GCI) is a dynamic nonprofit organization that offers a wide array of developmental and mental health services, including prevention, intervention and support, to the children and families of Cambridge and Somerville. Each year GCI serves over 3,500 children and families with care starting before a child’s birth and continuing until young adulthood. With over 125 highly qualified and diverse staff who speak a variety of languages, we consistently strive to deliver culturally sensitive care to clients who represent the expanding diversity of our community. Our programs support the goals of all parents—to see their children grow into productive young people who have healthy relationships with their family and friends, thrive in school and imagine hopeful futures.
