About Us

The Silver School of Social Work at New York University is a rigorous learning community with BS, MSW, DSW and PhD programs that are preparing the field’s future intellectual and professional leaders. Students learn from faculty who are among the top instructors in the field and are conducting innovative, high impact research on society’s most pressing problems.


NYU Silver’s approach emphasizes evidence-based practice, social justice, global perspective, and preventive interventions. The school is based in Lower Manhattan, where the practice of social work was born more than century ago, and offers global learning opportunities in locations around the world.
