  • About Us

Sprout Farms creates environments for students in New York City schools to experience growing and eating their own food. By increasing students’ proximity to fresh, healthy foods and giving students agency throughout the growing process, we aim for the students to develop a sense of ownership and responsibility for their growing plants and to become ambassadors of the central components of the slow food movement: to care, cultivate and connect.

Sprout Farms is fiscally sponsored by the Open Space Institute, Inc., as part of its Citizen Action Program.
