Our founder Lila Ghising, born in Nepal, started raising awareness about human trafficking in 2001 after she noticed her friends disappearing. Seeing the need for a safe home for trafficked victims, she started the Women's Protection Center in Hetauda, Nepal, near the Indian border in the same year.
The Center focuses on vocational training for rescued and at-risk women and children, helping them become free, independent women. It also raises awareness about trafficking in rural Nepali communities where traffickers sell lies about giving children education and a better life to separate them from their parents. Our mission is to stop human trafficking, one woman, one child at a time.
