FOUR PAWS International is a global animal welfare organization that has - for over 30 years -consistently and successfully focused on one goal: to improve the lives of animals around the world. We are a strong, global and independent voice for animals and respond to animal injustices around the world through education and advocacy, rescue and refuge.

We believe one of the most effective ways to protect animals over the long-term is to change two things: the law and social behavior. We do this through research, undercover investigations, reports, education and mobilization campaigns, our coalitions and advocacy work on national and international levels.

Beyond advocacy, FOUR PAWS owns and operates wild animal sanctuaries around the world including 6 bear sanctuaries across Europe, one of the largest big cat sanctuaries in the world in South Africa, an orphan orangutan rehabilitation school in Borneo, one of the largest elephant sanctuaries in South East Asia, mobile vet clinics, and many more projects. Our global team of veterinary and animal experts also distinguishes us as leaders in the field of animal welfare and creating and ensuring the best standard of care for all animals under our care.
