The mission of Energy and Water Institute of New York is to generate, disseminate, and preserve knowledge, and to bring this knowledge to bear on the great challenges of the 21st century world in energy, water, and environment. The Institute is dedicated to provide its students with an education that combines rigorous teaching and research, and to develop in students the ability and passion to work wisely, creatively, and effectively for the advancement of humanity; its teaching and research cuts across traditional disciplinary boundaries and is based on relevance to the practical world where actions are taking place
