At HopeWorks, our mission is to support and advocate for people in Howard County affected by sexual and intimate partner violence and to engage the community in creating the change required for violence prevention.

HopeWorks’ Volunteer Program is supportive of the organization’s two-pronged mission: providing support and advocacy for people in Howard County affected by SV & IPV, and developing the community engagement necessary for primary prevention. Our volunteer program is about more than filling roles — it’s about building capacity. We believe in strengthening the skills, instincts, abilities, and leadership of our volunteers so that individuals, organizations, and communities can thrive. Our volunteers are essential partners in our mission to support survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence and to create lasting change in our community.

We believe everyone has something valuable to give. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities that fit different skills, interests, and availability — and we welcome people of all backgrounds, races, genders, and identities. Whether you’d like to greet visitors in our front office, provide childcare for clients, support community outreach at events and fundraisers, or explore another way to serve, we’ll work with you to find the right fit. HopeWorksof Howard County, Inc. is a non-profit organization that strives to eliminate domestic violence in the county by providing shelter, counseling, advocacy, and community education to help increase awareness surrounding domestic violence issues. HopeWorks believes that it is every individual's right to live free from the fear of abuse.
