University of East Anglia - UK
The University of East Anglia (UEA) ranks in the top one per cent of the world's universities and receives consistently high marks for student satisfaction. Known for world leading teaching and research as well as a commitment to interdisciplinary study, the University offers over 300 undergraduate and postgraduate courses across four faculties: Arts and Humanities, Science, Social Sciences, and Medical and Health Sciences. In addition, the University is a leading member of the Norwich Research Park, one of Europe's largest concentrations of researchers in the fields of environment, health and plant science.
The University, located on 362 acres of rolling parkland just two miles from the centre of the cathedral city of Norwich in the United Kingdom, boasts modern state-of-the-art facilities such as the world famous Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts. The Sportspark, housing an Olympic sized swimming pool, climbing wall, and gymnastics centre, is the biggest indoor sports centre in Britain. Norwich has an impressive literary heritage and is the first English city to be named a UNESCO City of Literature. The University hosts an International Literary Festival that has attracted famous names such as Ian McEwan and Kazuo Ishiguro, both alumni of the University's Creative Writing course.
The University has over 14,000 students representing 100 different countries. One of the factors that makes our students, both past and present, so happy here is the range of activities and amenities the University offers. The Union of UEA Students offers 65 sports clubs and 130 societies as well as hundreds of volunteering opportunities and two live music venues, one on campus and one in the city centre. Students coming from outside of the region are guaranteed housing, and a range of accommodation options are available.
