About Us

Lund University, Sweden, was founded in 1666 and is one of the largest, oldest and broadest universities in Scandinavia. We are consistently ranked among the world's top 100 universities and top in Sweden (QS, THE, US News).

The University is located in Lund - a cobble-stoned, medieval town, just 10 minutes by train from Sweden's 3rd largest city Malmo, and 40 minutes by train from Copenhagen, Denmark.

As the #1 choice for international students coming to Sweden and as a major hub for international research collaboration, Lund is a global meeting place for students and staff. Swedes have the highest proficiency of English as a second language in the world - English is widely spoken, especially in Lund!

We offer over 100 Master's degree programmes taught in English across the following subject areas: Architecture & Design, Business, Economics & Management, Engineering & Technology, Environment & Sustainability, Fine & Performing Arts, Humanities, International Studies and Social Sciences, Law, Medicine & Health and Science.

At Lund University students experience an open and informal study environment designed to stimulate critical thinking and freedom of mind. Group work is a key part of academic life, encouraging students to work in teams and network across cultures - simulating and preparing you for the dynamics of the international job market.

The University has some 30 world-leading research environments and is a research intensive university belonging to the League of European Universities (LERU) and the international Universitas 21. Lund University is in many respects Sweden's most international higher education institution and has close cooperation and exchange agreements with a large number of universities around the world. The University is an important force in the expansive Copenhagen-Malmö region, not least since two of Europe's largest research facilities, Max IV and ESS, are being built in Lund.

Full cost of attendance for Master's degree students can be covered through US Student Loans (FAFSA) - Lund University is a participating institute in the US Government's Direct Loan Program (Title IV loans)
