  • Mission

The mission of Glide Community Housing, Inc.'s supportive services is to assist in maintaining permanent housing. We believe housing to be the right of every individual and the obligation of our community. We recognize that individuals experience multiple barriers to maintaining housing including poverty, discrimination, substance involvement, mental and other health issues, educational and employment deficits, a lack of social support, and a disconnection from the communities in which they live. We believe that housing is the essential first step in supporting individuals to reduce these barriers, thus breaking the cycle of chronic homelessness.

    About Us

Glide Community Housing (GCH) was formed in 1997 as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation to build and manage Glide’s first supportive housing building. The Cecil Williams Glide Community House (CW House), named after the Rev. Cecil Williams was completed in 1999 and was one of the first supportive housing projects in the City of San Francisco. CW House is a 9 story, 52 unit building which houses a mixed population. Later, in 2010, GCH began offering supportive services on-site at 149 Mason Street including medical and behavioral health services and case management. More recently, in 2016, GCH took upon the task to offer supportive services and on-site case management at 350 Ellis Street. GCH strives to create a healthy community by offering effective services that foster holistic healing in an environment of cultural integrity and diversity. There is an array of supportive housing services at each supportive housing building site.
