What is Sheltering Arms?
Sheltering Arms provides high‐quality early education, child care and comprehensive family support services to more than 3,500 children and their families annually at 14 metropolitan Atlanta locations in Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton and Gwinnett counties.
On average, children attending Sheltering Arms score in the 90th percentile for language and literacy, exceeding developmental milestones for kindergarten readiness.

Our Strategic Plan
Sheltering Arms created and adopted a new strategic plan in 2014 to guide the organization for the next five years. With the help of community partners, board members, parents, alumni and staff at all levels, we have defined an actionable plan to guide our brand, financial stability, operational excellence, advocacy, impact and data, and our role in the field of early childhood education.
