Support entrepreneurs in launching innovative solutions for Houston’s most pressing social and environmental challenges.

WHO WE ARE
Good Works Houston is a 501c3 organization formed to help social entrepreneurs become sustainable, high-impact enterprises benefiting Houston. The Good Works Houston team brings deep experience in tackling issues and delivering results in the public and private sectors. We are devoted, enthusiastic, and industrious Houstonians, united in our passion to support our city.

WHAT WE DO
At Good Works Houston, we focus on solutions. We have developed a three tiered approach to address challenges facing our Houston communities with social innovation and entrepreneurship.

Good Works Houston supports entrepreneurs by providing highly effective startup curriculum, linking entrepreneurs to one another for peer-to-peer support, and offering access to leading social innovation institutes. We connect and equip entrepreneurs with human and financial capital needed to succeed.

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS
Since formation in April 2016, Good Works Houston has entirely operated as a volunteer-based organization, contributing to early stage wins:

• Launched partnerships with local universities and start up accelerators sharing insights and driving economic development.
• Formed partnership with Unreasonable Institute providing access to a global network of 300 ventures in 50 countries and nearly 1,000 supporters.
• Conducted a Business Model Validation Lab attracting 60 entrepreneurs and selected 17 impact ventures.
• Developed strategic alliances with local, national, and global organizations aligned with our mission.

ON THE HORIZON

• Develop and implement customized programs and service offerings to position impact ventures for success.
• Co-host Innovation Investment Summit with Chilton Capital and Village Capital in October.
• Debut Good Works Houston and ventures at Impact Film Festival in November.
