The Border Hub is a is a Women-led Youth Organization in Busia, Kenya. We provide skills, character, and economic development programs; enabling youth and their communities to learn and access opportunities for socio-economic and cultural prosperity.
The organization is anchored on the need to provide sustainable solutions to poverty, illiteracy and unemployment, which has exposed the youth, men and women of the border county to risk behaviors such as exploitation, gender based violence, child marriage and crime, resulting in an economically deteriorated community whose people lack sustainable income. This has limited the community’s ability to access healthcare, and skilled education required to generate income as well as critical information in this digital era.
Through our pioneer Youth Innovation Hub, Community Library and Learning Center located at the border town of Busia Kenya, The Border Hub provides a safe, social, and educational space for youth, learn, access internet and opportunities, while offering training, skills, character and economic development programs for their prosperity.
Under the leadership of a well experienced advisory board, the secretariat and volunteers, The Hub is professionally run and its impact in the community progressively monitored, measured, and assessed for continuous improvement.
To enable youth access opportunities for social, cultural, and economic prosperity.
A prosperous youth community full of opportunities with reduced poverty and improved equality.
The Border Hub also runs the Community Youth Champions Fellowship, a program that seeks to harness the potential of outstanding young people within communities and transform them into global community changemakers, enabling them to build outstanding organizations and transformational partnerships enabling them to access global opportunities for sustainable development. The CYC Fellowship targets community changemakers aged 35 years and below such as yourself, that have taken personal initiative beyond all odds to initiate innovative initiatives, enterprises and projects addressing key issues, challenges, and gaps in their communities.
