Waldorf School of the Roaring Fork
To inspire the spirit of the child and elicit academic excellence through educational artistry. The Waldorf School of the Roaring Fork is a warm and dynamic community of teachers, staff, parents and others serving children from birth through 8th grade. We work to inspire the spirit of the child and elicit academic excellence through educational artistry and we are part of a dynamic worldwide movement of Waldorf education. Our school is located along the banks of the Roaring Fork River, near Aspen, Colorado. The area’s natural beauty is enhanced by a dynamic arts environment and an engaged business community, making the Roaring Fork Valley an attractive place to live and work. The school is known for its dedicated faculty and parents and its exceptional facilities were designed with nature and inspired by the Waldorf pedagogy.
Now in out 21st year of service, the Waldorf School of the Roaring Fork has always believed that intellectual flexibility, independent judgment, and moral courage will be essential to children's success as creative and responsible human beings. To nurture these characteristics, the Waldorf curriculum carefully weaves together academic, artistic, and practical activities to stimulate the imagination and prepare students for life. We also value an active and engaged adult community that recognizes the value of self-development and serves to support the work of the teachers and staff.
We envision a school where more children will be able to come regardless of their ability to pay, where our teachers and staff are compensated for the tremendous service they lovingly give, and where people from all walks of life can be inspired by the work we do.
