About Us

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Union County, Inc., an affiliate of the National Court Appointed Special Advocate program ( ), is an independent, non-profit organization committed to advocating for the best interests of children in out-of-home-placement. CASA of Union County, Inc. trains community volunteers who work to ensure that needed services and assistance are made available, in a timely fashion, to children in placement while helping to move them as quickly as possible toward safe and permanent homes. Today 8,000 children are living in out-of-home placement and over 400 of these children were removed in Union County. Many of these children are victims of violence, psychological torment or sexual abuse. Others have been neglected or even abandoned by their own parents. These children, however, often become lost in the very system which is working so hard to help them. The CASA concept is based on the commitment that every child has the right to a safe, permanent home.
