ABOUT THE FOUNDATION: PHOENIX INTERNATIONAL INCORPORATED
Phoenix International Incorporated is the Maryland-based 501(c)(3) organization approved to operate the first-ever public charter school in the Charles County (MD) Public Schools district. We are designing an ecosystem where rural students of color and students with low socioeconomic status gain access to critically needed educational experiences, in-person and within the web3/metaverse, that challenge and prepare them to take stake in the global creative economy.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL: PHOENIX INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF THE ARTS
Presently, PISOTA is our first school site. PISOTA’s mission is to inspire and prepare the next generation of global artists, innovators, leaders, and scholars to use their intrinsic gifts to make the world a better place. For 6th - 12th grade students in Charles County, MD, PISOTA provides a supportive learning community that promotes creative exploration, global competence and bilingualism, holistic wellness, learning enriched by real-world experiences, and access to experts - all combined with arts-integrated teaching practices, an inquiry-based international curriculum, and the latest in technology and innovation. PISOTA has received authorization to serve grades 6 - 8 beginning school year 2023-2024.
