Excelsior Works!

Excelsior Works! (ExW!) is a fiscally sponsored program of Chinese Progressive Association, a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization. The mission of Excelsior Works! is to create a viable link to workforce development that leads to financial sustainability of individuals and families, strengthened community, and Excelsior identity. ExW! is a new center where residents of every age and culture can find workforce programs and services, get assistance in English, Spanish, Cantonese, or Tagalog from collaborating organizations at one convenient site.

ExW! brings a vital and missing component of workforce development infrastructure to one of the last affordable neighborhoods for families in San Francisco. Collaborating organizations include: OMI/Excelsior Beacon Center, Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center, Chinese Progressive Association, Filipino Community Center, PODER, Chinese for Affirmative Action, Communities United for Health and Justice, and SF Rising. Services include: career exploration, resume development, job search, interview preparation, workers’ rights workshops, translation help with important documents, barrier removing skills building workshops, immigrant services referrals, and policy and advocacy campaigns.
