The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is proud to introduce the online Master of Science in Criminal Justice program. Whether you’re interested in pursuing the research side, teaching at a 2-year college, moving into a PhD program, pursuing a leadership position in law enforcement, or exploring an entirely new career in criminal justice, the online Master of Science in Criminal Justice can help you achieve your goals.
Along with the complete listing of courses offered through this program, UW-Platteville allows students to further customize their area of emphasis through a variety of elective courses.
Criminal Justice Theory
This emphasis is designed for those who wish to position themselves for doctoral-level education or embark on a career in governmental research.
Criminal Justice Management
This is an effective path of study for those seeking promotion to supervisory or administrative positions in a variety of criminal justice settings.
Victim and Offender Services
This emphasis is a perfect fit for those interested in working with crime victims, juveniles, probation, and parole clients, or providing services in institutional or community-based settings.
UW-Platteville also offers a Child Advocacy Studies certificate is designed to prepare students for the realities of child protection, serving the needs of those interested in working directly with maltreated or at-risk children. The necessary courses are a perfect fit for those seeking to become or specialize as child protection professionals, victim witness workers, lawyers, school social workers, and treatment providers.
While the certificate is a separate credential, the 9 credit hours required to earn the certificate may be applied towards the master’s degree in criminal justice. Students can also choose to pursue a certificate in Child Advocacy Studies (CAST) while they earn the online Master of Science in Criminal Justice.
