The Hunger Response Team of Sterling (HRTS) is a nonprofit that was launched in 2020 with the mission to provide volunteer-driven support addressing hunger, food insecurity and related social services, primarily to communities in Sterling, Leesburg and Herndon in the Loudoun and Fairfax Counties of Virginia. The HRTS team, which is 100% volunteer-based, aims to identify and to help mitigate the challenges faced by the underserved in our local community through the following: raising awareness; sourcing, gathering, and distributing food and basic necessities; assisting families and individuals with meeting their basic needs; and providing educational aid and resources to individuals in need.
