About Us

The Houston Health Foundation's mission is to create private-public partnerships for sustainable health and wellness initiatives and programs in our communities . We are a small 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, engaged with multiple community partners throughout the Houston area and serving over 20,000 children and families.

Since its inception in 2010, the Houston Health Foundation (HHF) has helped advance the health and well-being of the Houston area’s most vulnerable communities through evidence-based public health programs. Through its affiliation with the Houston Health Department (HHD), HHF’s five Brilliant Futures programs – See to Succeed, Project Saving Smiles, Community Gardens, Basics Houston and My Brother’s Keeper – have improved the health trajectory of more than 220,000 vulnerable children and families in the greater Houston area. These programs have made a difference in Houstonians’ lives by providing:

·       100,000 children with comprehensive free eye exams and corrective eyewear;

·       50,000 dental screenings and nearly 80,000 dental sealants;

·       Increased access to community gardens for 2,400 Houston area families; and

·       20,000 youth with mentoring and support services

We work with the Houston Health Department, donors, partner organizations and volunteers to help bring valuable health services to the children and families of Houston's most under-served communities.
