Camp Felix of The New York Foundling
About Camp Felix:
Camp Felix is a collaboration between two non-profit organizations: The New York Foundling and the Felix Organization. Since 2006, these partners have worked hard to create an exciting and fun-filled FREE summer camp experience for children who are involved with The New York Foundling.
Our campers are recruited from The New York Foundling’s various program areas and include children in foster care settings as well as children whose families are receiving preventive (support) services and mental health services to stabilize the family. At Camp Felix, these children are provided with an opportunity to express themselves, learn new skills, make friends, explore nature, and have fun, all while functioning within a structured safe environment. Camp Felix is located in Putnam Valley, New York, about 60 miles north of New York City. Transportation is provided for all campers to and from NYC.
Camp Felix’s Mission is to provide a positive and enriching overnight camp experience for children in need. To that end, Camp Felix aims to be a supportive camp community that enables each child to feel a sense of belonging in the world and to begin to gain the tools necessary to reach their physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual potential. Camp Felix’s Vision is that each child in need who attends Camp Felix will have a positive camp experience resulting in memories, achievements, and personal growth that will positively impact his or her life.
