  • About Us

YSOP is a Quaker based non-profit organization, founded in 1983, that gives middle school, high school and college students episodic opportunities to help people in need through volunteer service. YSOP offers day-long, weekend and week-long service programs. YSOP programs combine hands-on service with education on current issues and reflection on the service experience. YSOP provides volunteers to service agencies helping homeless and hungry people throughout New York City, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia. These agencies include soup kitchens, food, furniture and clothing banks, drop-in centers and recreational programs for children living in family shelters. Last year over 4,300 YSOP program participants provided vital services to more than 590,000 people in need.
