  • Mission

At Growing to Give, we grow organic vegetables using climate-friendly methods and donate them to local people facing food insecurity through our partner food pantries.

    About Us

Nearly 16% of Mainers, roughly 200,000 people, are food insecure according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Maine ranks last in New England and 41st nationally for food security. With so many of our neighbors going hungry every day, and with the cost of high-quality food out of reach for many, Growing to Give was born through the work and passion of several like-minded friends and neighbors. It was formed as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the spring of 2017 with a mission to grow organic vegetables using climate-friendly methods and feed our food insecure neighbors.
