World Computer Exchange - Greater Philadelphia

  • Mission

Come join others in a friendly welcoming volunteer environment to make a difference in the lives of children in developing countries. We seek dedicated people with a wide range of technical skills. World Computer Exchange (WCE) is an international educational nonprofit that collects and refurbishes donated, used computers for shipment to classrooms in developing countries.

    About Us

Since 2000, WCE has connected over 5 million youth to digital resources, empowering them to reach their full potential. The Greater Philadelphia Chapter of WCE is just forming to collect computer donations and recruit volunteers to refurbish computers.

The Greater Philadelphia Chapter of WCE works 1-4 Saturdays/month preparing PCs for shipment. What we do: inventory equipment, testing, cleaning of equipment, wiping hard drives, and installing operating systems and educational programs. Teens and adults are welcome. Basic computer skills are needed. All of our tasks except repair can be learned during our orientation.
