Pittsburgh Botanic Garden

  • Mission

Pittsburgh Botanic Garden inspires people to value plants, garden design and the natural world by cultivating plant collections of the Allegheny Plateau and temperate regions, creating display gardens, conducting educational programs and conserving the environment.

    About Us

Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is unique, as it is one of the only botanic gardens being built on reclaimed coal-mining land. It is a 460-acre property, and is currently a work in progress, with 60 acres open to the public. Additional land is being reclaimed, and will be home to future gardens and facilities. In time, it will become one of the largest botanic gardens in the country.
