About Us

The Eleanor Crook Foundation is a growing family philanthropy that seeks innovative, multi-sector solutions to global hunger and malnutrition.  It is estimated that on average every dollar spent on nutrition yields an astounding $45 in societal benefits and savings.  We believe that improving global nutrition must become a top development priority.

ECF seeks sustainable solutions and the highest yielding international development investments.  In East Africa, ECF funds operational research programming and organizational capacity building to identify and improve nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive best practices, empower local actors, and foster new collaboration within and across food security and nutrition sectors.  ECF also funds US and global advocacy efforts to increase financing and effectiveness of international food and nutrition aid.   We pride ourselves on our willingness to push traditional development boundaries, learn, and iterate programs to make breakthroughs.
