  • Mission

The mission of CDCPS is to provide a kindergarten through grade eight school that will draw upon our considerable experience in working together as a community to develop and implement a curriculum that discovers and supports the special characteristics and unique learning styles of each student.

    About Us

    Vision

CDCPS will provide meaningful learning experiences to help students achieve clear goals in understanding, knowledge, skills, habits, and social competencies. We will highlight our city's positive aspects, including its culture, art, economy, working-class history, and strong work ethic. Our educational approach is based on the belief that learning occurs within the family context, and that supporting families is essential to the child's success.

CDCPS comprises three distinct school divisions:
    • Gateway
    • Prospect
    • R. Kingman Webster
Each division serves 400 students in grades PreK-8, at sites across Lawrence. Independent of the local school committee, CDCPS is governed by a Board of Trustees who ensure the school is faithful to its charter, an academic success and is organizationally viable.
