Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels

  • Mission

Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels seeks to reduce hunger and food insecurity in a culturally responsive manner for the homebound in the Ann Arbor area who are unable to shop and prepare complete nutritious meals for themselves because of their health.

    About Us

Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels is a community-supported program of Michigan Medicine and part of Community Health Services. Staff and volunteers are committed to supporting the dignity and independence of our homebound community members who are largely unable to leave home because of their health status. Staff and volunteers conduct wellness checks and deliver meals along with needed household items and toiletries to those in need. They also deliver cards, activity books and more to brighten the days of our clients.

Meal delivery volunteers serve a critical role in our program and in the lives of our homebound neighbors. Volunteers choose the day (Monday through Saturday) and frequency for volunteering. Meals are picked up at the Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels office at 11:30am, and routes typically take 1-2 hours to complete.
