Environmental Defender's Office (A.C.T.) Inc.

The Environmental Defender's Office is an independent non-profit community legal centre based in Canberra, Australia, advising on environmental and planning law with an aim of increasing public awareness of environmental laws and remedies. We advise on questions of Commonwealth, Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales law. We offer a free telephone advice service on environmental law questions as well as face-to-face appointments. Our services include:

1. providing legal advice and assistance to people seeking to protect the environment
2. presenting environmental law seminars for the community
3. providing community legal information, such as Fact Sheets
4. promoting laws and law reforms that help protect the environment
