About Us

Kalamazoo Animal Rescue is a group of volunteers that fosters dogs and cats in their homes while the pets are recuperating and waiting for permanent adopters. The animals are strays, owner relinquished or injured pets that would otherwise be homeless if not for these volunteers who are willing to care for them and spend the time to raise money to pay the huge vet bills associated with such a program.

Animals are provided with all necessary veterinary care from the time they arrive at KAR. All animals are checked for internal parasites, fleas, and ear mites, then given treatments and immunizations as required. Cats and kittens are checked for feline leukemia, dogs and puppies are checked for heartworm, and all animals are treated accordingly. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED/NEUTERED PRIOR TO ADOPTION.

Kalamazoo Animal Rescue is an ALL VOLUNTEER, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
