    Founded in 1982 as Keep Providence Beautiful, Groundwork Providence is a private non-profit education organization dedicated to building a cleaner, greener, safer city through environmental programming such as Environmental After-School Clubs for youth, Adult Environmental Job Training, the Neighborhood Planting Program (street trees for Providence,) Spring & Fall Clean-Ups, recycling education, and creating and managing community gardens. Groundwork Providence programming changes attitudes and behaviors regarding our urban environment and encourages all Providence residents and businesses to take responsibility for our urban communities.
