Amizade Global Service-Learning

Amizade is a 501C3 nonprofit organization with a mission to empower individuals and communities through worldwide service and learning. Through collaboration with universities, high schools, and community groups, we have connected over 9,000 volunteers to projects in 12 countries.  Our volunteers make a difference working on community projects alongside local residents, explore the countryside and customs of a new place, and build lasting friendships across cultures.

We have partnerships with community and nonprofit organizations in Bolivia, Brazil, Jamaica, Auschwitz (Poland), Northern Ireland, Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago,Tanzania, Puerto Rico, the Navajo Nation (Arizona and New Mexico), Appalachia, and Washington, DC.  Wherever we work, we strive to develop community-driven, sustainable collaboration and strengthen cross-cultural bonds and an increased understanding of global citizenship.  We also act as a catalyst for improvement in international education, developing innovative curriculum and sector changing ideals like Fair Trade Learning.
