About Us
Girl Power! is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit day and after-school community social change organization serving girls ages 11-17. Our goal is to promote positive behavior, enhance social skills and improve academic performance in adolescent girls. Girl Power! offers several empowerment programs to young girls and their families throughout Miami-Dade County including: After-School Program, Post Arrest Diversion Program, Mentoring Program, Alternative-to-Suspension Program and Sumer Camp for girls.
Since its inception, Girl Power! has served approximately 1500 Miami-Dade County public school students and has helped to reduce the suspension rate of its participants by 85% and the arrest rate by an amazing 90%.
Our Mission: To empower girls and their families to succeed in order to protect, restore and preserve the family unit.
Making a Difference in the Community: Girl Power! is designed to make a profound impact on the lives of girls by promoting self-esteem and healthy self-fulfilling relationships. The girls who participate in our program are taught skills that resolve conflicts responsibly as well as resist and reduce the violence and abuse in their lives.
