Forest Stewardship Council (FSC-US)

About Us

The Forest Stewardship Council-US (FSC-US) is the independent national initiative of FSC, the global leader in forest certification. FSC promotes responsible forest management by developing the world’s most respected forest management and chain-of-custody standards, evaluating and accrediting third-party certifiers, authorizing use of the FSC label on forest products, and by providing public education about FSC as a crucial tool for ensuring that the world's forests are protected for future generations. FSC is experiencing extraordinary growth in demand for certified products. FSC-certified products, such as building materials, paper and furniture can now be purchased at nearly every major national retailer. Currently 100 million acres of North American forestland is FSC-certified (290 million acres globally). More than 3,400 U.S. companies are certified under FSC’s chain-of-custody standards (16,000 globally).
